Howdy Again

So, with this post, I want to delete all the previous ones. When I was little and kept journals, sometimes I would make things up, and they would become more collections of my wishful thinking rather than documenting my activities and attitudes. When I grew up a little, I was embarrassed by my writings and destroyed them.

I don't want to destroy things anymore; I just want to start over. I don't know how often I'll write on here, as this year is busy for me, but I want to start fresh from this post. So, starting fresh. So.

Inspired

Legally Blonde inspired me to kick my schoolwork's butt. And I did. Yay! 15 pages down, 1.5 to go!! I just need another week and a half of inspiration...

Spent a lot of time with my mom over the break. She was sad about a lot of things, but we had fun shopping and talking and watching movies and eating out. My brother moved in with my dad because he was upset with my mom. I'm sad about that--he's really a good kid. I just hope his attitude changes so he sees that my mom is trying to take care of him, not make his life miserable. How does a kid learn that? I guess it's one of those things you learn yourself, the hard way.

I was in the Periodical Reading room in the library all day today. They have magazines and newspapers from all over the world on lots of different topics. There was a guy who sat down at a table behind me, and in front of the table I was sitting at there was this little couch area with a coffee table and some chairs next to the window. So the guy who was behind me came over and took a nap for about an hour and a half on the couch. Then he got up and went back to his chair and brought his coat with him to the couch. Then he slept for another hour or so, and got up and went back to his chair, packed up his stuff and left. Way to go, buddy. I guess they call it the periodical reading room for a reason....
I've been in his situation before, though I usually only sleep for 45 minutes then I leave to go to my bed. Speaking of going to bed, it's that time!

yes, move on

Well, as moving on is a process and not a destination, I'm definitely still moving. The terms I used in my last post were very loose, such as "made a decision" and "my mother reinforces my thoughts". So I'm frustrated now because I still haven't come to a concrete decision, and my mom will be disappointed in me if I choose english because she thinks I'm taking the easy way out. Reading 500+ pages a week, analyzing the literature, creating arguments about it, writing drafts, and finally turning in a paper is no small task...no easier than working 10 hours of chemistry problems a week, spending 3 hours in lab, and digging through chemistry book to understand a complex concept. So I'm stressed, I think that means it's time to pray. The knots will be gone. It's a good thing the knots don't stay gone; knowing me, I'd stop praying.

I have amazing friends up here. Friends to cheer me up, who are genuine, friends to make me laugh, who tell me it will be okay. Thanks, God, for them. God definitely reads blogs. :e)

identity crisis? nah...not me

To major in chem or to major in Engilsh? Well, spelling would be a good place to start. So I freak out about these classes, but talk to my boyfriend and he makes me realize that I have the power to decide....and why would I decide to subject myself to stress that negatively affects my health ie, take organic chemistry? His encouragement pacifies me, and his advice to help others when I start feeling depressed/doubtful is valuable. But then I start thinking again. ouch. So I pray and this overwhelming peace blankets me. The knots in my shoulders are gone, and my thoughts are clear. Amazing. And I decide that part of the learning process will be learning how to handle the challenge of chemistry without letting it give me a bad attitude/selfish attitude. My mother reinforces my thoughts and encourages me. So it's a relief to have made a decision...now I can move on. :) see, doesn't hurt that much.

Just starting/ending

So I just started a blog, washing my family's cars every weekend, and eating more eggs. Summer, being 18, and bad listening skills are ending. Yay! think of all the new adventures coming....
